11-20-13 - OMPET Volunteers Help Feral Dog "Chokie" - "Chokie' is a dog
that has been eating behind Ima Jean's Cafe in San Augustine
for years. Someone put a collar on her as a pup, and as she grew, it became embedded in her collar. Citizens of San Augustine have been trying to catch or
trap "Chokie" for some time, with no luck. She will not allow people to touch her. She had several litters of puppies during that time. Sissy Fults has been
Chokie's self appointed caretaker for some time. Nacogdoches Animal Services lent the us of a humane trap, but Sissy was unable to lure her into the trap.
Finally a posse of volunteers drove to San Augustine after a citizenhad trapped Chokie in their garage, and they were able to get Chokie into a trap without
harm to anyone. Dr. Weatherly at Eastex Vet Clinic surgically removed the collar, and spayed Chokie. She stayed there for a few days while Sissy built Chokie
a fenced in area for her to live in, compelte with a house and her own tree. She has not been able to touch Chokie yet, but Sissy is dtermined that someday
she will. Chokie smiles and wags her tail, and plays with her dog friends.

movement this summer, by founding PetRescueRx.com. Dr. Buckley and his brother draw no salary from this online pet pharmacy
that donates net profits to the animal shelter/rescue of your choice. PetRescueRx.com has honored The O'Malley Alley Cat Organization by approving us as a rescue that can be
selected by customers for periodic distribution of net profits. If you use an online pharmacy for your pets' medications, do
us a favor, and use PetRescueRx.com. Just ask your veterinarian to fax or call the prescription in according to instructions
on the website.
